No Port in South America has the privileged position of the Port of Montevideo. A strategic enclave, its annual growth and increasing preponderance are unequalled in the area.

Located near the entrance to the waterways comprised by the rivers Uruguay, Paraguay and Paraná, the Port of Montevideo provides direct access to Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia, and also the Brazilian Southeast and North of Argentina.

Three international bridges that cross the River Uruguay connect the Port of Montevideo to Argentina and thus the central parts of the South American continent , while several highways join Montevideo with the main Brazilian highways. This makes the Port of Montevideo an important crossroads.
